So do I, Neither do I

27. 2. 2011

SO DO I, NEITHER DO I - JÁ TAKÉ, JÁ TAKÉ NE

Krátké kladné konstatování "Já také." se v angličtině vyjadřuje vazbou:
SO + POMOCNÉ SLOVESO + PODMĚT
- I am hungry. So am I.
- Andrew must study hard. So must I.
- Mary can swim. So can I.
- They have a nice house. So have I.
- July may borrow their car. So may I.
- He is reading. So am I.
- Lucy often buys new dresses. So do I.
- Paul will return soon. So will I.
- They went to London. So did I.
- Patrick has just done it. So have I.
- We have been waiting here. So have I.
- She was there yesterday. So was I.
- They were invited to my party. So was I.
- We would buy it. So would I.
- John should help his mother. So should I.

Souhlas se zápornou větou "Já také ne." tvoříme takto:
NEITHER + POMOCNÉ SLOVESO + PODMĚT
Pomocné sloveso je tu vždy v kladném tvaru, protože zápor je obsažen v záporné částici
NEITHER. Místo NEITHER je možné použít i tvar NOR.
- I am never sad. Neither am I.
- She doesn't like music. Neither do I.
- Mary can't go there today. Neither can I.
- They don't shave every day. Neither do I.
- Boys weren't at home yesterday. Neither was I.
- They didn't live in London in 1992. Neither did I.
- He hasn't heard about it yet. Neither have I.
- We will not go to the cinema. Neither will I.
- I wouldn't help them. Neither would I.
- They have never been to Japan. Neither have I.
- Peter needn't do it. Neither must I.
- He isn't smoking now. Neither am I.

Obecně po SO, NEITHER stojí určitý tvar slovesa BE, HAVE, modálního slovesa CAN, COULD, MAY, MIGHT, MUST, OUGHT TO, WILL, WOULD, SHALL, SHOULD nebo příslušný tvar pomocného slovesa DO (DOES, DID), které nahrazuje sloveso vyskytující se v úvodní větě.
Tyto vazby mužeme použít i pro jiné osoby a to vždy s příslušným tvarem pomocného slovesa za SO, NEITHER:
- Peter is lazy. So is Mary.
- My uncle has a house. So have they.
- Lucy cleaned her room. So did her sister.
- I wasn't very busy on Friday. Neither were we.
